Frac Pumps

MTT’s momentum has remained unmatched. As head of technology for our oilfield service partners, MTT designed and built the first fully integrated “Frac Stack Pack”. These frac units use a 3,850 HP turbine to drive a 2,000 to 2,700+ HHP pump. Due to its small size and weight, MTT can customize any type of frac configuration whether for land-based or offshore use.

Frac Unit Skid Designs and Options

The core frac unit weighs approximately 23,000 lbs wet with a triplex pump. Fully self contained. Suitable for offshore transport or as a plug and play spare unit. Forklift pockets are standard for easy transport.

The same core frac unit fitted on a bobtail. This configuration is designed for tight, mountainous roads such as in the Marcellus Shale. An 800+ gallon fuel tank, air compressor and generator included. Customs additions available.

Turbines in the Oil Field

For years, the oil industry has depended on reciprocating engines to power its equipment despite the known limitations of diesel engines. Characterized as having lower pump rates, being oversized, heavy and having reliability issues, diesels have struggled to stay on the cutting-edge of industrial technology.

The double frac on a 35’ trailer is designed for the most common of field applications. A 3,000 gallon fuel tank with a 25 KW generator can be included. As a substitute for a large fuel tank, a full control house can be mounted on the deck. Alternatively, fuel tanks can be built into the frac unit base leaving room for the control house.

The double frac on a 48’ trailer is designed for a full featured control house or additional support equipment.

The MTT Frac Stack Pack is powered by a split-shaft turbine engine with varying speeds for the fluid end. The jetPUMP™ has realized outstanding performance results. Unlike its diesel counterpart (which depends on gear reduction to provide enough power to overcome pressure increases), split-shaft turbines do not sacrifice pump rate.

A semi-permanent installation designed for walking rigs. The skid is 65’ with a fuel tank and a generator. The frac units can still be lifted and moved via the forklift pockets. All frac skids can be run on CNG, LNG, treated field gas, #2 diesel or bio fuel.

The MTT designed Frac Stack Packs include all engine accessories, electrical systems, electronics, start system, inlet, exhaust and digital/analog controls. The oil and lube systems are fully integrated.

The 3,850 HP gas turbine stacked above the pumps weighs only 770 lbs.
