Distributed turbine power generation is the alternative to grid power. With distributed turbine power generation the electrical power package is brought to a customer site versus reliance on grid power.
MTT is a manufacturer of 1MW and 2.5MW turbine power generation packages used for distributed generation in a variety of industries. The MTT distributed electrical generation solutions our 1MW and 2.5MW turbine power generation units provide include remotely operated oilfield power generators for electric submersible pumps, data centers, drilling, prime power for a ship or platform, mobile emergency power and stand-by power. These are but a few of the industry sectors where MTT turbine distributed generation is the preferred solution for when there is no grid, when the grid is unstable or when grid power is at an unreasonable cost.
The MTT turbine power generation packages are fully mobile but they can also be used in a permanent installation. The power package range of 1MW and 2.5MW is still small enough to fit on a single trailer inclusive of the inlet and exhaust systems. Once on site the packages can be fitted for a more permanent heat recovery cogeneration application designed and manufactured by MTT. All of the MTT turbine power generation packages can be configured for 50 Hz and 60 Hz.
Remote operation is a customizable feature found in the MTT 1MW and 2.5MW turbine generator sets. For example, a site may require 24/7 operations in unmanned stations throughout a large oil and gas field. MTT’s new digital control suite provides the solution with full web-based operational control, data monitoring and analytics derived from our in-house control package.
Historically, distributed power generation meant diesel generators. The problem is the high emissions from the diesel fuel and their large footprint. The low emission and compact MTT turbine power generation sets run on 100% gaseous fuel and with a power improvement when compared to a diesel genset running on partial or 100% gaseous fuel. In fact, the MTT gensets are true dual fuel which means they can run 100% diesel fuel or 100% gaseous fuel to suit the local application. Given a choice, the MTT 1MW and 2.5MW turbine power generation packages running on gaseous fuel are the preferred method.
Similar to the MTT turbine powered frac units, the MTT turbine power generation sets run on field gas direct from the wellhead. They run equally well on CNG, LNG, propane and pipeline quality gas. Liquid fuels include diesel, kerosene and bio-fuel up to B-100.
Distributed turbine power generation in the 1MW and 2.5MW size class is the perfect solution for mobile power when the grid is unavailable or unstable. Available voltages are 480V, 600V, 4160V and up to 23,000V with a step-up transformer. All of the MTT turbine power generation packages have custom options to operate in island mode, parallel and utility grid tie. The MTT turbine generator sets perform with 100% load shed and acceptance with frequency and voltage stability.
The MTT Solution is 1MW and 2.5MW Distributed Turbine Power Generation Packages. Led by Ted McIntyre, MTT is at the forefront of turbine innovation.
