MTT is the innovative leader of turbine powered airboat technology. These turbine powered airboats are specifically designed to operate in sensitive coastal wetlands that suffer destruction from marsh buggies and are otherwise inaccessible to conventional watercraft.
The custom airboat configurations can be rigged for remediation services, plug and abandonment of isolated oil and gas wells, pipeline work, dredging, and utility work for power lines and poles. There are also turbine powered airboat configurations available for fire fighting, fluid transfer, pressure pumping, coiled tubing and dozens of other industrial uses.
The core of the airboat technology revolves around MTT’s turbine packaging. For example, the turbine powered airboat shown below has dual 1,500 HP turbines to result in a 3,000 HP power plant. This equates to 10,000 lbs. of thrust to propel the airboat.
The MTT turbines in a dual configuration only weigh 1,400 lbs. total. Yet, the turbine power they deliver results in an 8 ton payload on water, 40+ MPH speed on the water, and the ability to drive on dry land with a 6 ton payload. The hull is 15 x 27 feet which allows for plenty of space to mount equipment and personnel.
The MTT turbine powered airboat can be scaled up from the base model to reach an astounding 8,000 HP with 25,000 lbs thrust. The hull can then be sized up for extreme payload configurations to serve any type of application.
So why use an MTT turbine powered airboat? There are numerous reasons: Small footprint, massive payload, speed on the water and land, diverse configurations and the ultimate in portability. The MTT turbine powered airboats are very low emissions and they run on non-volatile diesel fuel instead of gasoline. Perhaps the most compelling reason to use MTT turbine powered airboats is because they are the alternative to marsh buggies. A marsh buggy chews up the sensitive wetlands and is a destructive force that is often barred from protected areas. The most expensive alternative is a transport helicopter which is prohibitive due to the expense and cargo limitations.
With forward, neutral and reverse capabilities, the MTT turbine powered airboat is highly maneuverable whether on the water, a silted canal or dry land. The airboat can act as the prime workboat with industrial machinery or simply as a fast supply boat.
The MTT Solution is Turbine Powered Airboats for all Sensitive Wetland Work. Led by Ted McIntyre, MTT is at the forefront of turbine innovation.
