CONTROLS / OPTIONS PACKAGES

CONTROL SYSTEMS

All fire pumps, water transfer and flood control packages come with control systems.  On a ship the preference is to have a main console mounted in the bridge.  This bridge control starts and runs the turbines, manages all critical functions (lube, pressures, temperature, speed, etc.) and also allows the operator to manipulate the monitors through the use of joysticks.

All pump units come with a local panel mounted to the unit.  In addition, it is becoming popular to have a 100+ feet long tethered control box that is connected to a suitcase-style remote.  This can be in lieu of a control panel in the bridge.

MTT’s control units can also be configured for data logging and remote operations via cell phone and internet.

HAZ-MAT, MINING, PIPELINE, HIGH-RISE ROOFTOP UNITS & CROWD CONTROL

In addition to fire and flood there are numerous other applications.  The advantages come from the light weight, portability and incredible horsepower density of the equipment.  MTT’s fire pumps and flood control devices are well suited for Haz-Mat response, mining, pipeline work, fire protection on high-rise buildings, crowd control / non-lethal deterrents and many other special purposes.

All packages can be custom configured.  For example, a refinery or a port facility may require units stationed every 250 feet to ensure 100%+ water curtain coverage.  This requires custom line sizing and water nozzles based on the application, worst case ambient wind conditions, worst case water pressure mitigation, etc.  MTT can solve for the site requirements, manufacture the equipment, install it and support it.

FUEL OPTIONS FOR FIRE PUMPS, WATER TRANSFER, & FLOOD CONTROL

MTT fire pumps, water transfer and flood control packages run on 100% liquid fuels (#2 diesel, kerosene, aviation and bio fuels).  They also run 100% on gas (pipeline natural gas, field gas, propane, LNG, CNG, low BTU digester and landfill gas).  These packages are predominately liquid fueled since their main use is aboard a ship or in areas where mobility is mission critical.  However, gaseous fuels are becoming more available across the board.  MTT therefore offers the dual fuel option on all units.  This is especially valuable for land based applications where natural gasses are common.

All of MTT’s fire pump and flood control equipment use an electronic fuel valve for liquid fuel and for gaseous fuel.  We also use state-of-the-art digital controls to manage the turbine and all of the driven equipment.
